Ball Python Care Basics
- Lifespan - 20-40 years
- Size - 3-6ft
- Food - Live or frozen/thawed rodents. Every 5-7 days when young, and every 1-2 weeks as an adult.
- Water - ALWAYS have fresh water available for your BP
- Temperature - Hot side: 85-91°F, Cool side: 80°F
- Humidity - 60%-70%
- Heating - A combo of overhead heating and/or under the tank heat mats can be used. All under the tank ("UTH") heat meats MUST be used with a thermostat. DO NOT place heat sources inside of the cage.
- **Please buy a thermostat/hygrometer to measure heat/humidity**
- Caging - 15-20 gallon for babies, 4'x2' enclosure for adults. 2 hides, one on the cool end and one on the hot end recommended. BP's love to feel safe. Don't place a baby in a 4x2 enclosure!
- Substrate - Coconut husk products like ProCOCO or Reptichip are recommended. It helps maintain humidity and keeps down any odor.
